Do Rasta believe that Selassie I is God in the flesh?

Blessings,
I was watching some footage and Rita Marley was talking about the time that she saw Selassie I and she said in her mind that if she could only see his hands .. you know to see the nail prints then she would know that he was the living God in the flesh.. not in those words exactly.. but close enough... so I want to know if I overstood the statement correctly?

Answers:

1Yes they believe that he is the black Jesus as his title of the Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah.Because the Arc of the Covenant is also said to be in Ethiopia and Bob Marley Believed that Selassie I is Jesus it caused a Cultic following.Selassie is However a Mortal man i believe that he triumphed for Ethiopia no matter what people say and is the last black

jah rastafari, selassie i the first, begining with no end.

we all are gods in d image & likeness of jah, but selassie i is d true king of all d gods on earth. d only king with no intensions to rule d world like other earth kings from time till now. but he is has breaken d slavish mentality. d only king with d restoration of positive conciousness in slation to restor d true principles of nature.
give thanks and jah bless.

sorry but if you read the bible i don't understand how anyone could come to the conclusion that we are all gods? aren't these worldly ideals which god warned against? vanity..the reason we live in such a miserable and corrupt society is because of such beliefs - we think we have nothing to learn from and become angry when our faults are exposed. we were made in gods image meaning we have the ability to know him - that is if we follow our conscience and do that which we know is good. we were made in his image in a spiritual sense..peoplpe often forget that the body is nothing but a prison..a cage harbouring our soul (our true self).
so lets give jesus christ thanks and await his return..if he had returned already (as sellasie) then we wouldn't still be living in this crap we call "life"..those who follow jesus will only find true life through death...if u call what we are doing now living then theres something seriously wrong..existing is closer the mark.
